چکیده
Received: September, 2004. Accepted: December, 2004. Source of Support: Nil. Figure 3: Photomicrograph (Masson Trichrome stain, x40) Figure 1: Hyperpigmented patch on the trunk Figure 2: Photomicrograph (H/E, x4) A one-day-old, full-term, normally delivered, female neonate was being routinely examined. A brownish irregular patch of 2 cm × 1.5 cm, with fine long hairs was observed on her right loin [Figure 1]. On gentle stroking, the lesion became more prominent along with the appearance of goose bumps. A punch biopsy was taken from the edge of the lesion. Histopathological preparation on H/E stain showed mild hyperkeratosis of the epidermis and basal cell hyperpigmentation. In the reticular dermis, well-defined smooth muscle fiber bundles were seen, interspersed among hair follicles [Figure 2]. Masson Trichrome stain [Figure 3] confirmed the presence of smooth muscle fibers (stained red).

Sir, Becker's naevus or Becker's melanosis is a relatively common disorder, which appears as a hyperpigmented, hypertrichotic patch located mainly on the trunk (1). متن کاملA case of acquired smooth muscle hamartoma on the sole.
A smooth muscle hamartoma is a benign proliferation of smooth muscle bundles within the dermis. It arises from smooth muscle cells that are located in arrector pili muscles, dartos muscles, vascular smooth muscles, muscularis mammillae and the areolae. Acquired smooth muscle hamartoma (ASMH) is rare, with only 10 such cases having been reported in the English medical literature to date. Most of...

Folliculosebaceous Cystic Hamartoma (FSCH) is a cutaneous hamartoma comprised of follicular, sebaceous and mesenchymal elements, and usually occurring during adulthood. Congenital and childhood presentations of this lesion are exceedingly rare. We describe herein a case of congenital FSCH on the midline and posterior region of the neck in a 1-year-old male infant and highlight the clinico...

Congenital smooth muscle hamartoma usually manifests at birth, but rarely, can also appear later in life. It is usually located on the trunk and extremities and appears as variably‐sized papules, patches, or plaques.[3] Pseudo‐Darier’s sign is considered as the characteristic diagnostic clue for congenital smooth muscle hamartoma.[1] Pseudo‐Darier’s sign is a transient piloerection and elevatio...
متن کاملCongenital smooth muscle hamartoma on the scalp.
An 8-day-old male infant was referred to our neonatal unit for prematurity. It was observed that his scalp color was darker than the rest of his skin color when the scalp hair was partially shaved for intravenous access. Dermatologic examination revealed a slightly elevated, hyperpigmented plaque confined to the whole scalp. The margin of the lesion did not extend to the face and neck. His hair...
